Two Great Wins And A Loss This Week

Currently in 5th the Ladies 1st XI went up against 8th place Droitwich Spa 1st XI away from home! The reverse fixture in October ended 5-1 to our ladies 1st XI so this was always a game COB could and probably should win! And with excellent goals from the wonderful G.Brookes, J.Lee & C.Sarah the win was secured, ending 3-1 and pushing the ladies XI closer to the top four.

Our Mens 1st went up against 5th place Old Silhilians 2nd XI at home this week, with a great goal from Z.Jarvis the game sat at 1-1 for most of the tie, both teams being very even and both pushing very hard, but with late injuries for COB meant a last five minutes in which Old Silhilians scored two goals, a tough finish to a game that had been so even. 3-1 at the final wistle, pushing Old Silhilians to 3rd place in the league. A huge game next week against Olton who currently sit just one point above COB in 10th place.

After some great recent results and good form including a great 9 man victory last week the Mens 2nd XI went into their home clash against 7th place Sutton Coldfield 8th XI with high hopes. A solid first half team performance that allowed Sutton very few chances just needed a goal to compliment the fairly dominant performance. This was delivered by R.Stanley with a snaking run into the D finished with a good shot to give COB the lead right at the break. The second half was more of the same with COB controlling but unable to add to their goal tally, finishing 1-0 and putting the Mens 2nd XI closer to 3rd in the league.

The Ladies 2nd XI game was cancelled this week so their next game is against 4th placed Redditch 2nd XI.
